Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0007266A1] The invention relates to a simplified and more economical method of producing contact bushings for electric plug-in connectors consisting of a stable sleeve body and a plurality of contacting means such as contact wires or contact strips which establish a line-shaped or strip-like contact with a contact pin, whereby said contact wires or contact strips are twisted and oriented around the axis of said tubes. The stable sleeve body consists of a sheet metal material and the two ends of the contacting means are joined to said sheet metal material. The inventive method is carried out in a series of separate but simultaneously occurring operations: a) a continuous strip of sheet metal material is provided as a carrier material with a dome-shaped part or comparable longitudinally central deformation perpendicular to the plane thereof, b) a series of contact strips are produced simultaneously from another strip of material, c) the contacting means are connected to the sheet metal material forming the stable sleeve body, and d) longitudinal sections corresponding to the lateral surface of the continuous strip of the semi-finished product fitted with said contact means are cut into lengths and rolled to form a contact bushing. The method is simplified and made more economical by freely cutting away the contact means, contact wires or contact strips and leaving edge strips to guarantee spacing from a strip of material whose width is greater than the width of the strip of material used to produce the stable sleeve body in addition to joining them to the strip of material that forms the stable sleeve body, whereby said material is provided with a deformation that is oriented in a perpendicular position with respect to the plane thereof.
