[origin: WO0020171A1] The invention relates to a grinding tool which is driven about an axis of revolution (2) and which has radially outwardly projecting, blade-shaped grinding elements (3). Said grinding elements (3) have an abrasive surface and adjacent slits (5, 6), preferably situated at alternately different distances from the axis of revolution (2). Spacers (4) are situated between the grinding elements (3). The grinding elements (3) are retained by retaining rods (7) which are preferably mounted in such a way that they can rotate about their longitudinal axis in the base body (1) or the retaining cage (8) of the grinding tool. An advantage of this arrangement is that the tool can be produced with very large dimensions and that it is particularly suitable for machining workpieces with a curved surface.
