Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9944896A2] The aim of the invention is to produce a one-piece plastic closing cap, especially made of polyethylene material, which can be placed on a filled container without special tolerance requirements while simultaneously fulfilling the additional, partially contradictory requirements. The inventive closing cap can be produced using few steps. Said cap can be molded and removed from a mold, and can be recycled after use. Another aim of the invention is to reliably ensure both the safety and sealing functions for the closed container. To these ends, the invention provides a closing cap having an elongated safety seal and an inner seal which is elongated, for example, which extends along the edge of the container neck and into the opening. The inventive sealing cap is characterized by having a funnel-shaped or bell-shaped extension on the free end of the elongated safety seal, a funnel-shaped outer surface on said elongated inner seal, and an average functional strength of the plastic material pertaining to the one-piece closing cap (especially the strength of the polyethylene material). The funnel-shaped or bell-shaped safety seal extension sits on the holding collar of the filled container in such a way that it cannot engage upwards, and the outer surface of the funnel-shaped inner seal lies on the container neck such that it can press against the same in an elastic manner.
