Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0018998A1] The method and device are used to dehumidify a web of endless fabric (W) that is conveyed continuously in a longitudinal direction in a stretched state.aid web of endless fabric (W) is exposed to a higher air pressure or other atmospheric pressure in a narrow area extending crosswise over said web on one flat side and exposed to a lower air pressure or other atmospheric pressure on the other flat side, whereby air and/or atmospheric gas circulates through the web. The web of endless fabric (W) is supported on the edges of the area (29) that run parallel to said web (W) against the forces acting thereon as a result of the difference in pressure. The area (29) is defined on the two sides that extend across the web of endless fabric (W) by laterally adjacent, non-touching rollers that are displaced in the same direction (10, 20). The web of endless fabric (W) is supported on said rollers, rolling thereon. In the area forming the transition section between the rollers (10), said web of endless fabric is exposed to the difference in pressure without any support and is held exclusively in the installation on said rollers (10, 20).
