The present invention relates to a process of treating a carpet comprising the application of a liquid composition onto said carpet using a manually or electrically operated spraying device wherein said composition comprises a brightener. The carpet treatment composition according to the present invention provides soil hiding benefits and/or carpet cleaning benefits.
