Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0020457A1] The present invention provides novel synthetic antigenic peptide epitopes, related to IGF-II-R. These synthetic antigenic peptide epitopes are designed for enhanced binding to MHC molecules, and have enhanced immunoregulatory properties relative to their natural counterparts. The synthetic antigenic peptide epitopes of the invention are useful in a variety of methods of modulating an immune response to the synthetic antigenic peptide epitopes and thus to the corresponding native antigenic determinant. Synthetic antigenic peptide epitopes of the invention thus find application in a wide variety of immunomodulatory protocols, including methods to induce or increase an immune response, as well as in methods to suppress or reduce an undesirable immune response, to a corresponding natural epitope.
