[origin: WO0020847A1] The invention relates to a method and device for isotope-selective measurement of chemical elements, especially radioactive elements, in materials, especially radioactive materials. The aim of the invention is to provide a method and a device which permits measurement of the total concentration and the isotope composition of the contained elements in a manner which is as easy as possible. To this end, an optical emission spectroscopy method, according to which plasma in the form of a sample vapor cloud is generated by laser ablation from a sample to be analyzed, is combined with a laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy method, according to which the sample vapor cloud is analyzed by laser-induced excitation of fluorescence.
