Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0021864A1] The invention relates to a method of securing a container on a container or on a transport means situated underneath it by using a lifting device. For the purpose of lifting the container, said lifting device engages from the top with the slots (6a) in the upper corner fittings (6) by way of lifting means which are provided with rotatable bolts (14). Said lifting means are fixed in the fittings by rotating the bolts (14) and are released again by rotating the bolts in the opposite direction. The rotational movement of the bolts (14) of the lifting means is transmitted to locking bolts (2) which are rotatable in the lower corner fittings (6'), whereby said locking bolts engage with the slots in the corner fittings of a container or a transport means situated underneath it when the container is set down. Said locking bolts can be locked in the fittings by rotating them therein. The transmission (20) of the rotational movement of the bolts (14) to the locking bolts (2) is designed to be a counter-rotational movement in such a manner that when the bolts (14) in the upper corner fittings (6) are rotated from the open to the locked position, the locking bolts (2) in the slots of the support are rotated from the locked to the open position.
