[origin: WO0112932A1] The invention relates to a bar lock for locking preferably the doors of a switch cupboard or similar doors or shutters. Said bar lock comprises a base plate or escutcheon mounted on the exterior of the door leaf or the shutter. The system is further provided with an actuator that extends through the door leaf or the shutter in a section and that actuates at least one stay bar that can be displaced in the longitudinal direction along the inner side of the door leaf or shutter.
