[origin: WO0023922A1] A method and system for comparing properties of objects in a computer environment wherein the objects are defined by an array of elements describing a decision process. Each element contains data related to a particular property or properties of its associated object and a rule or rules for comparison of the property with related properties in another object. The method comprises the steps of comparing associated properties within the objects according to the rule or rules provided by each element and allocating a priority value to the object indicating the state of the comparison of each property. The priority value is indicative of whether the object has qualified by a successful comparison, is qualifying or is disqualified by unsuccessful comparison.
