[origin: WO0022651A1] The invention relates to energy saving lamps with electronic ballast. Said ballast comprises a printed board that is placed in the cap (10) of the lamp in which all electronic components are located. Said components are disposed in such a way that the heat generated during operation is optimally transferred to the metal screw fitting (11) of the cap (10), wherein the skirt (12) consisting of insulating material and positioned between the screw fitting (11) and the central contact (13) provides the required insulation. The gas discharge lamp (30) consisting of U-shaped folded glass tubes (31) is fixed to the cap (10) of the lamp with the aid of a lamp insert (20) consisting of two parts (21, 22).
