[origin: WO0019694A2] A method of transmitting signalling information between signalling points (3, 9) of a telecommunications system, the signalling information being associated with a subscriber-to-subscriber (6, 7) voice or data traffic channel carried by a circuit switched channel transmission network (1, 2). The method comprises transmitting signalling information between said signalling points (3, 9) via a TCP/IP network (11) which is separate from the circuit switched channel transmission network.
