Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1122444A2] The radial ventilator fan has a funnel shaped air inlet nozzle (1) for the entry of axial primary air flow (P) fed to a free blowing fan rotor (2) for radial discharge. The wall of the nozzle has a frusto-conical inflow section (3a) leading to a cylindrical central flow duct (4) on the suction side of the fan. A gap (5) for secondary air inflow is provided between the rotor and the inlet duct wall. An annular formation (6) is provided in the inlet so that the nozzle forms a boundary layer of the primary air flow causing an air flow mixing.
