[origin: DE19848401A1] The cross members are secured between vertical columns (10) using a connecting piece (20) comprising a bracket with side arms (21, 22) that become hooks (23), and with externally protruding clamping pieces (24). Prism-shaped cavities at the end of the cross members form closure parts with an opening for receiving the connecting piece. Clamping wedges are used to urge the clamping pieces on the connecting piece against counter-pieces in the cross members.
