Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1124054A2] The fuel system for an internal combustion motor, to feed the fuel from the fuel tank (1) to the motor, has a fuel pump (2) to move the fuel through the fuel line (3). A pressure control unit (12) sets the fuel feed pressure level selectively, according to the motor needs and its condition. The pressure control (12) is in the fuel feed line (3). The fuel pump is in two assemblies (2a,2b) which operate either in series or in parallel, according to the pressure level set by the pressure control (12). The pump assemblies (2a,2b) are switched automatically or by a change-over valve.
