Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0027549A1] The invention relates to a device for recording pictures of parcel surfaces which contain distribution information. Said device comprises a camera (4) which is provided with a CCD sensor and a lens for shooting (5) and which is arranged perpendicularly in relation to the parcel surfaces to be filmed. Said device is further provided with a sensor (3) for sensing the parcel heights, a control unit (7) for producing adjustment signals for the camera (4) depending on the detected parcel height and a transport means for continuously transporting the parcels in front of the camera. The inventive camera (4) has an autofocus zoom lens with a high speed zoom lens drive (6) in order to permit a continuous high dissolution for parcels of different heights. The high speed zoom lens drive (6) is controlled by the control unit (7) in such a manner that the enlargement is always the same irrespective of the previously measured height of the parcel surface containing the distribution information.
