Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0026133A1] The invention relates to a winding mechanism comprising a housing (1) whereby an electric motor (6), a gear mechanism and a traction roller are arranged therein. In order to produce a flat winding mechanism that can be easily carried by a person and used in a universal manner especially at home, the case-like housing (1) that is basically configured in the form of a suitcase has a suspension (2) on one of the two flat outer sides (3a) and an opening (3c) that enables the traction means (4) to be fed through and the inventive device can be carried by a person by means of a carrier handle-type element (14). In addition, the electric motor (6), gear mechanism (7) and the traction roller (8) are arranged on a common plane. Another solution is to connect the electric motor (102) in the form of a universal motor to the gear mechanism (104) via a (102) belt drive (110), whereby said gear mechanism is configured as a self-locking worm gear.
