Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9943556A2] The invention relates to a tear band for packages comprising distinguishing markings. To counter piracy, especially of brand products, the invention aims to provide packaging with a tear mechanism which presents an opening and closing possibility that is specific to the manufacturer and suitable for determining whether the package has been opened or not. To this end the invention provides for a tear band which before it is joined to the packaging film is stretched at least in sections on the left and/or right side, and/or on the upper side and/or on the lower side, which stretching serves as coding. The number and/or radii and/or height of the waves of the tear band present after tearing constitute coded information. According to a different version of the invention a tear band for packaging is provided with one or more perforated holes serving as coding. According to the invention the tear band is also provided with at least one optically active security element for coding information, which element consists of at least one characteristic colour, a diffracting structure and/or a metallized coat.
[origin: WO9943556A2] Before the tear-off strip (1) is connected to the packaging film, it is stretched in sections on the left and/or right, on the upper (7) and/or lower side (6). This stretching serves as coding. Number and/or radii and/or height of the waves created before connection and after tearing-open, show coding of information. The tear-off strip may also have a number of punched perforations (5), which may represent company logos or trademarks. The strip may also have metallised sections, and within these sections, numbers or letters are non-metallised. -
