The lock has an electric motor drive (3) for an actuator (5), a sensor (8) for detecting the position and/or speed of the drive and/or actuator element and a controller (9) that switches the drive off at a time and/or distance point before the desired position. The actual position of the drive and/or actuator element in the switched off state and/or its deviation from the desired position can be determined to correct the switch-off point. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of controlling a motor vehicle door lock.

Es werden ein Kraftfahrzeug-Türschloß (1) und ein Verfahren zum Steuern desselben vorgeschlagen, wobei ein elektromotorischer Antrieb (3) zum Erreichen einer Sollposition (12) in Abhängigkeit von mindestens einem Betriebsparameter, insbesondere von einem beim Anlaufen des Antriebs (3) erfaßten Anlaufkennwert, an einem Abschaltpunkt zeitlich und/oder örtlich vor der Sollposition (12) abgeschaltet und insbesondere kurzgeschlossen wird. Um eine hohe Positioniergenauigkeit zu erreichen ist vorgesehen, daß Abweichungen von Sollpositionen (12) zur Korrektur des Abschaltpunkts für spätere Positionierungen erfaßt werden. <IMAGE>
