The device has a first current path containing a main bimetallic element (10) and a connected compensation bimetallic element (13) coupled together with a coupling sliding element (21) and a secondary current path containing a selective bimetallic element (26), whereby the bimetallic elements are arranged in parallel. The selective bimetallic element acts on one interlocking point of a switch lock (19) with an associated transfer element (31).

Es wird ein selektives Schaltgerät, insbesondere ein Hauptleitungsschutzschalter beschrieben, der einen ersten Strompfad, in dem sich ein Hauptbimetall (10) und damit verbunden eine Kompensationsbimetall (13) befinden, die mechanisch mittels eines Koppelschiebers (21) gekoppelt sind, und einen Nebenstrompfad, in dem sich ein Selektivbimetall (26) befindet, aufweist, wobei die Bimetalle parallel zueinander verlaufen. Das Selektivbimetall wirkt mittels eines eigenen Übertragungselements (31) auf die eine Verklinkungsstelle eines Schaltschlosses (19) ein, damit das Selektivbimetall von dem Kompensationsbimetall entkoppelt ist. <IMAGE>
