Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0025697A1] Disclosed are compositions containing at least one anti-microbial agent and at least one volatile solvent. The compositions are applied to biological substrates such as skin, keratinous tissue (e.g., finger nails and toenails) and dental tissue (e.g., teeth and surrounding soft tissue). A residue of the anti-microbial agent is left on the substrate, inhibiting microbial growth for a given period of time. The compositions are particularly useful in the course of dental procedures. In these embodiments, they are applied to teeth that have been drilled or otherwise prepared to receive a dental restorative composition such as a filling or crown, or a dental prosthetic device.
