[origin: WO0020166A1] The invention relates to a system for working material along a production line with the aid of an arangement (2) that can be moved along a supporting surface (1). A bottom part (2a) can be moved and/or displaced across the supporting surface (1) with the aid of an air cushion (L) located between the bottom part and the supporting surface and can be held against said supporting surface (1) in a chosen positional setting, by at least removing the lifting effect of said air cushion. A holding means (20) co-acts with an inner part (2c) and functions to affix said inner part (2c) relative to the supporting surface (1). The bottom and a top part of the arrangement can be moved relative to said inner part (2c) by means of a movement generating means (30, 40, 50) mounted in said top and bottom parts (2a and 2b), and adapted to provide rotary movement and/or provide linear movement.
