[origin: WO0118498A1] The invention relates to a device (1) for measuring at least one parameter of a medium that flows in a conduit (3). The device is especially used for measuring the mass of a flowing medium, the intake air mass of an internal combustion engine for instance. Liquid and solid particles that are contained in the conduit (3) influence a characteristic behaviour of a measuring element (34) which serves for determining a parameter of the flowing medium. An inventive protective grid (38) rejects liquids and solid particles from the measuring element by guiding said liquids and particles to an inner wall (8) of the conduit (3). The device (1) also stabilises the flowing medium by producing longitudinal whirls in a direction of flow.
