[origin: EP1127823A2] The method for feeding a paper web (6) from a reel (5) down through a winding bed made up of two support rollers (2, 3) comprises tipping the reel to assist cutting the web. This is carried out using a cutter (7) mounted on the first support roller (2) and adhesive is then applied to the end of the web which is fastened to a new winding core. An Independent claim is included for a machine for carrying out the method.
