[origin: EP1128016A2] The drive has a guide rail (1) and a drive carriage (16) driven to move to and fro in the guide rail. The drive carriage is fixed to the door to be operated. The guide rail is divided into at least two parts (3-5), which are hinged together and can be folded up or unfolded parallel to the movement plane of the drive carriage. A connection unit is preferably provided to stabilise the parts at the side opposite the hinge joint (2). Independent claims are included for a toothed belt drive mechanism for the drive, guide rails for the drive and a method for mounting the drive.
