The system has at least one display device, preferably a visual display screen (12) for variable display of information relating to a part (14) of a building. The display is placed outside the building near an access area (16) and a detector (18) of persons is located in the access area. Stored information can be displayed in response to the detection of a person in the access area; the information shown depends on the nature of the detection. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of operating an information system for a building.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Informationssystem für Gebäude mit wenigstens einem Anzeigemittel, vorzugsweise einem Bildschirm, zur wechselnden Darstellung von einen Gebäudeteil betreffenden Informationen, wobei im Betrieb das Anzeigemittel außerhalb des Gebäudeteils in räumlicher Nähe zu einem Zugangsbereich des Gebäudeteils angeordnet ist, und einer Nachweiseinrichtung, mit der die Anwesenheit einer Person im Zugangsbereich nachweisbar ist, wobei als Reaktion auf einen Nachweis einer Person im Zugangsbereich am Anzeigemittel gespeicherte Informationen darstellbar sind, die von der Art des Nachweises abhängig sind. <IMAGE>
