[origin: WO0018991A1] The invention relates to a method for producing cellulosic fibers from solutions of the cellulose in an aqueous tertiary amine oxide. The extruded fibers are guided through a spinning bath and are then cut. The cut fibers are guided through several interconnected washing baths in the form of a fleece and dried. Fresh washing liquid is supplied to the last washing bath and guided up to the first washing bath in counterflow to the direction of transport of the non-woven fleece. The inventive process is characterized in that the pH of each of the washing baths is kept above 8.5.
