[origin: WO0118362A1] The invention relates to a combination (1) consisting of a main unit (2), preferably the engine block of an internal combustion engine, and of at least one external-mounted functional unit (3), preferably an oil or fuel filter, a heat exchanger or an oil mist separator, which can be mounted on the main unit (2) that conveys at least one fluid or one gas, and through which the fluid or the gas flows. The main unit (2) and the external-mounted functional unit (3) each comprise matching elements (21, 31) of a flanged joint which, when mounting the external-mounted functional unit (3), fit together in a sealed manner while forming at least one fluid or gas supply channel and one fluid or gas return channel. The inventive combination is characterized in that the elements (21, 31) of the flanged joint are formed by at least two parallel interspaced line sockets (31) and by two congruently positioned line borings (21), and in that the flanged joint, in its joined state that is effected by interconnecting, additionally comprises at least one radial seal (33) arranged between the line socket (31) and the associated line boring (21).
