The invention relates to a detachable support for a table top consisting of one or more leg assemblies each comprising at least one upright and one beam, with means being provided for holding the leg assemblies at the uprights against the bottom side of a table top and one centrally mounted clamping member by which the outer ends of the beams of the leg assemblies can be kept clamped against the bottom side of the table top. <IMAGE>
