A method for preparation of sealed fuel-molded article (sic) for use in gas generators and for automobile safety devices obtained by extrusion involving the steps: mixing of the fuel components and making a paste of the mixture with a solvent, to give a plasticizable mass, extrusion of this mass to form a fuel-molded article (sic), and drying of the latter with solvent removal is new. An Independent claim is included for a fuel-molded article obtainable by extrusion where the composition contains less than 3 wt.% of thickening agent relative to the amount of fuel and density at least 70% of the theoretical density.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur zur Herstellung von dichten Treibstoff-Formlingen zur Verwendung in Gasgeneratoren für Sicherheitseinrichtungen in Kraftfahrzeugen durch Extrusion, welches die folgenden Schritte umfaßt: Vermischen der Bestandteile des Treibstoffs und Anteigen der Mischung mit einem Lösungsmittel unter Bildung einer plastifizierbaren Masse; Extrusion der plastifizierbaren Masse zur Bildung von Treibstoff-Formlingen; und Trocknen der Treibstoff-Formlinge zur Entfernung des Lösungsmittels, wobei dem Lösungsmittel vor dem Anteigen ein die Viskosität erhöhendes Verdickungsmittel zugesetzt wird, in einem Anteil von 0,1 bis 10 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das Lösungsmittel, und wobei die getrockneten Treibstoff-Formlinge eine Dichte von mindestens 70 % der theoretischen Dichte aufweisen. Die Erfindung betrifft außerdem die nach diesem Verfahren erhältlichen Treibstoff-Formlinge.
