Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1130266A1] Device to remove a melt from a melting furnace comprises a melt conveying pump (1) consisting of a pump tube (2) having a lower melt inlet (3) and an upper melt outlet (4); a shaft (5) supporting a pump rotor (6) running within the pump tube. A charging device (7) is connected to the melt conveying pump to keep the conveying height (h) constant. The charging device comprises a charging vessel (8) for receiving the pump tube with the melt inlet and a charging pump (10) which fills the charging vessel up to a melt overflow (9) determining the charging height. The conveying performance of the charging pump exceeds that of the conveying pump.
