[origin: DE10104229A1] The central heating boiler has a safety temperature limiting device (13) provided on the cold water side of the boiler heat exchanger and cooperating with a gas valve inserted in the gas feed to the gas burner (1), for shut-off of the gas feed for preventing overheating of the heat exchanger. The safety temperature limiting device can have a bimetallic switch used for opening an electrical contact at a defined threshold temperature.
