Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19852791A1] According to the invention, a method and a digital exchange for redirecting or forwarding calls in a telecommunications network comprise at least one first subscriber (A), the digital exchange (3) and another subscriber (C). A call is established from the first subscriber (A) to the digital exchange (3) with a signalling channel and a speech/data channel. Only one logical connection (13) is maintained between the subscriber (B) who is allocated to the central exchange (3), and the first subscriber (A). As a result, a resource such as the speech/data channel becomes free. Call-processing calls can therefore be controlled with virtual resources. Inside the exchange (3) requiring the service, the physical resources related to said service (speech/data channel) can be released to the service user while the control possibilities of the service are still defined by the individual subscriber. This is made possible by the connection to the service-user being logically retained independently of the resources.
