Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1391572A1] The lock has the usual catch (1) connected to the spindle for the door handle (13). A nut arm carrier (25) has a coupling device (24) enabling adaptation from left-hand to right-hand operation. The nut arm carrier holds a second arm (15) engaging an actuating slider (12) with an elongated slot (22) with teeth (23) along one edge. A pinion (11) engages the teeth, and is geared (9) to two racks (4-7) operating the locking bolt (2). A security lock mechanism (3) may engage the bolt.
