[origin: WO0030783A1] The invention relates to a method for oscillating a continuous-casting mould by means of vertically alternating movements in or against the direction of casting, the stroke and frequency of the oscillation being parameters which can be set in accordance with casting speed. If the mould presents a forward slip in relation to the strand, that is the so-called negative strip, liquid and/or solid casting material is drawn into the gap between mould and strand. By uncoupling the linear relation between casting speed and the oscillation parameters stroke/frequency the parameters are varied insofar as with increasing casting speed acceleration of the moving system is reduced overall by way of a relative decrease in frequency and relative increase in stroke.
