Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19854200A1] The invention relates to a device for contacting an electric cable (9), especially a flat conductor cable (1). A device of this type for contacting is required e.g. in a so-called power bus system in which several components, for example engines, control devices, etc. are connected to a multi-core cable which provides the power supply as well as the control function. In order to achieve a secure contact which is also useful for higher currents, the inventive device for electrically contacting comprises a contact element (3) which has at least two contact reeds (8a, 8b, 8c) attached to the side facing the cable. Said contact reeds are provided for penetrating the cable (9) to be contacted and are spatially offset from each other in relation to the axis of said cable (9) to be connected, in such a way that an inner conductor (12) to be connected of the cable (9) to be connected is pressed between the contact reeds (8a, 8b, 8c).
