The method for producing an article displaying pictures or symbols involves production of a template with cutouts representing pictures or symbols to be displayed, gluing of this template to the rear side of a mirror, and removal of the reflective layer not covered by the template material by means of sandblasting.

Es wird ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Bild/Symboldarstellungseinrichtung beschrieben. Bei dem Verfahren wird eine einen Freiraum für das darzustellende Bild/Symbol enthaltende Schablone hergestellt. Die Schablone wird auf die Rückseite eines Spiegels geklebt, und der durch die Schablone festgelegte Freiraum der Spiegelfläche entsprechend dem gewünschten Bild/Symbol wird sandgestrahlt. Auf diese Weise entstehen mattierte Bild/Symbol-Bereiche, die in den Spiegel integriert sind. In Weiterbildung des Verfahrens wird die dem Schablonenfreiraum entsprechende Spiegelfläche mit Klarlack lackiert, so daß diese Fläche transparent wird und sich weitere optische Effekte ergeben. <IMAGE>
