Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1134176A2] The drive unit for stair lifts includes a drive rail(13) which has engagement holes uniformly spaced in the longitudinal direction. The drive arrangement has two oppositely disposed gear-type drive pinions(17,18) exerting a radial pressing-on force onto the rail which is accommodated between them. The drive pinions have driving pins which interact with the holes in the drive rail with form-locking engagement. The radial length of the driving pins is equal to approximately half the thickness of the drive rail. An Independent claim is included for a stair lift equipped with the proposed drive unit.
