[origin: EP1134860A1] The overvoltage protection device has a number of adjacent overvoltage protection elements, each having a U-shaped housing lower part with contact tongues within its hollow arms (2,3) and a rectangular housing upper part (4) fitted between the latter. One hollow arm has at least one contact clamp for a terminal conductor (L1,L2,L3), the other hollow arm having at least one contact clamp for a take-off conductor (PEN), the clamp screws of the contact clamps head side of the hollow arms. The second hollow arm has openings for the take-off conductors in its side surfaces, with an insertion channel (7) common to the hollow arms of all overvoltage protection elements.
