[origin: EP1136002A2] The head band has at least one layer (4,5) of a force distribution material and especially a plastics foam. The layer(s) is (are) cut (8) across the longitudinal line of the band. The textile cladding has a stretch elasticity. The outer layer (4) is of polyethylene foam and the bonded inner layer (5) is a polyurethane foam. A polystyrene film covers the polyethylene foam layer (4).
