Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1136184A1] Each support strip has pockets (3) with magnets and threaded bores with ball catches (6). When the strips are pushed over the vice jaws (7,8), the magnets form an adhesive-like connection, and the elastic ball catches lock on the lower edges (9) of the vice guide (10). This automatically pulls the guide over the sprung balls (11) onto the guide surface (12), to create a high-precision work piece support. Side guides form a linear guide to prevent jamming, and to ensure fully effective axial magnetic flux to the vice jaws.
