[origin: DE10013571A1] The device has a machine table (2) with stop (7) and milling unit with spindle (31) and milling tool. There is a bearing unit (30), adjustable in various directions, for pivoted bearing of the milling spindle, in vertical height direction and horizontal depth direction relative to the machine table. Part of the table is formed by an insert slide (15), which has a slot for the milling tool and is flush with the working surface (3) of the table. The insert can be moved downwards and is coupled to the bearing unit for the spindle, so that a downward movement of the spindle causes a synchronous movement of the insert.
