[origin: EP1136214A2] Press mold for producing ceramic moldings has a pressing surface made from open pore sintered metal. This pressing surface is in direct contact with the ceramic material being formed. Preferred Features: The porosity of the sintered metal is 25-50%. The pressing surface has a permeability of 50-500 10<-7> m<2>. The porosity and/or the permeability of the sintered metal may change over the depth of the sintered metal body which forms the pressing surface.
