Cooling plate consists of copper or a copper alloy and has coolant channels. The side of the cooling plate facing the inside of the oven has a coating having a lower heat conductivity than the copper base material. Preferred Features: The coating has a heat conductivity lower than 320, preferably less than 10 W/(m.k). The coating is made from a material based on zirconium oxide containing yttrium oxide as an additive.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine mit Kühlmittelkanälen durchzogene Kühlplatte, die als Ofenwand eines metallurgischen Ofens, insbesondere eines Schmelz- oder Schachtofens, eingesetzt werden kann. Die Kühlplatte besteht aus Kupfer oder einer Kupferlegierung, wobei die mit der Metallschmelze in Berührung stehende Innenfläche der Kühlplatte mit mindestens einem Material geringerer Wärmeleitfähigkeit als der Kühlplattenwerkstoff beschichtet ist. Das Beschichtungsmaterial weist hierbei eine Wärmeleitfähigkeit von maximal 320 W/(m · K) auf und kann vorzugsweise mittels eines thermischen Spritzverfahrens, beispielsweise durch Plasma- oder Flammspritzen, auf die Innenfläche der Kühlplatte aufgebracht sein.
