The cold cabinet has a goods floor (2) for presenting food requiring cooling, a volume (10) beneath the goods floor, an evaporator (5) for a refrigeration system arranged essentially beneath the goods floor and a fan (6) for producing a circulating air flow (14) cooled by the evaporator. A controler switches the fan off during phases when the refrigeration system is off.

Eine Warenkühltheke enthält einen Warenboden (7) zur Auslage z.B. von Lebensmitteln, einen unterhalb des Warenbodens (7) befindlichen Wannenraum (10) und einen Ventilator (6) zur Erzeugung einer Umluftströmung (14) von durch den Verdampfer (5) eines Kühlaggregats gekühlter, über die ausgelegte Ware (9) hinübergeblasene, zum Wannenraum (10) hin umgelenkte und zum Verdampfer (5) zurückgeführte Umluft. Der Wannenraum (10) unterhalb des Warenbodens (7) ist zum Zwecke einer Maximierung seines Luftaufnahmevolumens frei von Funktionsgegenständen und die Zu- und Abschaltung des Umluftventilators (6) ist mit dem Betriebszyklus des Kühlaggregates gekoppelt. <IMAGE>
