[origin: EP1138518A2] A printing system and process are disclosed for producing durable, high quality, typically, right reading ink jet printed images. An ink jet receptor sheet and a transfer element containing a substantially transparent hydrophobic layer, e.g., mixture of acrylic polymer, poly(n-butyl methacrylate) and 2-ethylhexyl-2-cyano-3,3-diphenyl acrylate; polyurethane elastomer or styrene copolymer is disclosed. <IMAGE>
