Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1138827A2] The grooved rail etc. has groove edges or sides (32,34) esp. improved by welding. A rail section consists of a construction part with solid head profile, with an aperture (28,30) formed in the head (24) near an edge, which is filled with wear-resistant material. The groove cutting across the aperture is formed after filling of the aperture e.g. groove, by build-up welding. The welding material is enriched with wear-resistant additives and/or the groove is filled in several layers.
