The holder consists of a hollow shaft with an opening (8) at the end for a nail shaft (5) and a plate (2) at the far end of the hollow shaft with an opening (4) leading into the shaft. A strap (11) projecting from the non-shaft side of the plate (2) is joined to the insulation holder by an ideal break point (10). The strap is designed to close off the plate (2) opening (4) and the size of the break point (10) is such as to require more force friction between shaft and its surround. The break point (10) is designed so the strap has to be torn off to serve as lid. The break point comes in band form too short to permit tongs or pliers to be inserted between plate (2) and strap (11).

Ein Verfahren zum Setzen von Dämmstoffhaltern schlägt vor, den Dämmstoffhalter in einem ersten Arbeitsschritt mit einem Bolzensetzgerät zu befestigen. Nach dem Abnehmen des Bolzensetzgeräts wird in einem zweiten Arbeitsschritt anschließend oder auch zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt der Dämmstoffhalter einem Zugversuch unterworfen. Hierzu kann ein getrennter Prüfbolzen oder das Injektionsrohr eines Geräts verwendet werden, mit dem Dichtmasse in den Hohlraum des Dämmstoffhalters eingefüllt wird. Ebenfalls möglich ist es, an dem Dämmstoffhalter eine Lasche über eine Sollbruchstelle anzubringen, die bei dem Zugversuch abgerissen wird.
