Abstract (en)
The method involves changing the rotating direction of an eccentric shaft and/or a tool (8) at one end of the shaft. A counterweight is carried on the shaft. The rate of rotation of the eccentric shaft and/or the tool is regulated and set as well. The shaft and the tool are operated by separate drive units, and constitute a counterbalanced roller bit. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus for determining and setting the prevailing optimal parameters for drilling, stripping, and slotting of concrete, rock, or minerals by way of roller bits with superposed eccentric percussion action.
