Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0035616A1] Method for the production of a composite powder consisting of finely interspersed tungsten and copper, which powder can be directly pressed and sintered to provide products having density values exceeding 96 % with respect to the theoretical one and high values for electrical and thermal conductivity, the method essentially comprising the reduction of a copper precursor in the presence of tungsten metal suspended in an organic liquid phase produced by one or a mixture of polyols. The reaction is carried out by heating the suspension to a temperature of at least 60 DEG C and keeping it at a such temperature for a sufficient time to bring about the reduction of the copper precursor by means of the organic phase and tungsten therein.
